Beth-ann Roth, Outside Director on Miller/Howard Investments’ Board of Directors, is an attorney with extensive ESG-focused executive experience. Ms. Roth is a shareholder of R|K Invest Law, PBC, a B Corp that provides legal services that advance social and environmental justice, and promote diversity and balance in corporate governance. She is also President of ESG Legal Services, Inc., a 501(c)(3) public interest law firm where she launched the Corporate-Shareholder Communications Initiative to establish a legal framework for non-adversarial dialogue on social and environmental issues outside the shareholder proposal process. She started her law career on the staff of the US Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition to serving as a regulator, over the course of her career she has worked in the asset management industry, as an attorney in private practice, as an associate law professor, and as a registered lobbyist on Capitol Hill. Beth-ann earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, a JD with highest honors from Nova Southeastern University, a Masters from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University (Douglass College).
