Gregory Powell, PhD
Chief Investment Officer
Gregory Powell, PhD, oversees the Portfolio Management Team. Greg is the designated lead or co-lead Portfolio Manager on the firm’s core portfolios. In addition, he holds a position on Miller/Howard's Executive Committee. Greg joined Miller/Howard in 2017 and served as a portfolio manager and Deputy Chief Investment Officer. He was promoted to CIO in 2020, after the retirement of founder Lowell Miller. Prior to joining MHI, Greg had a distinguished 19-year career as a portfolio manager and director of research at AllianceBernstein. At AB, he managed a team of 12 analysts and a suite of products with $11 billion in AUM. He also served as head of fundamental value research there, redesigning the analyst role with an emphasis on investment success and training analysts in all aspects of the position. He holds a BA in Economics/Mathematics from the University of California Santa Barbara, and a PhD and MA in Economics from Northwestern University.

John E. Leslie III, CFA
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
John (Jack) E. Leslie III, CFA, focuses on diversified, dividend-paying stocks. He is a member of Miller/Howard's Board of Directors. Prior to joining Miller/Howard in 2004, Jack was a portfolio manager at Value Line Asset Management, M&T Capital Advisors Group (a division of M&T Bank Corp.), and Dewey Square Investors Corp. (now part of Old Mutual Asset Management). Jack earned his BS in Finance from Suffolk University and an MBA from Babson College.

John R. Cusick, CFA, focuses on midstream energy including master limited partnerships (MLPs) and infrastructure companies. Before joining Miller/Howard in 2013, he was a senior vice president and research analyst at Wunderlich Securities Inc. in New York, covering energy including partnerships focused on natural gas, liquids, and exploration & production. Prior to that, John spent more than a decade at Oppenheimer & Co. beginning his career as a junior analyst on the energy team covering major oil companies, refiners, and exploration and production companies and then as a senior research analyst specializing in the midstream sector. He earned his BA in Finance and Marketing from Temple University, and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University School of Business in New York City.

Michael Roomberg, CFA
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Michael Roomberg, CFA, focuses on diversified, dividend-paying stocks as well as the energy sector. In addition, he is involved in managing our closed-end fund, Miller/Howard High Income Equity Fund. Before joining Miller/Howard, Michael served as head of water/infrastructure equity research at Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. in New York City. Prior to that he served on Jefferies’ Industrials equity research team. Michael began his career as a research associate at Boenning & Scattergood Inc., a financial services firm in greater Philadelphia, where he specialized in energy exploration & production, and water utilities and industrials. Michael earned his BA in International Relations, Economics, and Finance from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds an MBA from the McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University.

Adam Fackler, CFA
Portfolio Manager
Adam Fackler, CFA, focuses on infrastructure companies including utilities, telecommunications, and midstream energy/master limited partnerships (MLPs). Prior to joining Miller/Howard in 2016, Adam spent 10 years in equity research, including five years at Rodman & Redshaw and KLR Group, focusing on MLPs, and at MLV & Co., covering exploration & production companies and MLPs. Owen D. Harvey
PORTFOLIO ANALYST
Owen D. Harvey focuses on diversified, dividend-paying stocks, as well as providing portfolio analytics to support marketing and client service efforts. Owen joined Miller/Howard in 2005 and was promoted to his current position in 2020. He works closely with the investment, marketing, and sales teams. Prior to joining Miller/Howard Investments, Owen spent seven years with Lazard Frères LLC in NYC, where he served as Technology Analyst before departing to attend graduate school. Post graduate school, Owen was an adjunct instructor at the State University of New York (SUNY) in New Paltz. He received a BA from Bennington College and an MFA from SUNY New Paltz.

Mark Phillips, CFA
Senior Research Analyst
Mark Phillips, CFA, focuses on diversified, dividend-paying stocks, and he leads Miller/Howard's risk management efforts and quantitative portfolio analytics. Nicole Lee provides operational and strategic leadership to Miller/Howard's ESG team. Nicole’s ESG research on portfolio holdings and candidates is integral to the firm’s investment process. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, she worked for several years as a clinic coordinator and educator for a nonprofit health organization, during which time she also developed and conducted training programs at two local universities. Nicole received a BS in Sociology from Southern Utah University, after which she studied public health at Westminster College in Utah.

Brandon Galeano
Senior Research Associate
Brandon Galeano is responsible for fundamental stock research and reports, idea generation, and other portfolio management support. Brandon joined Miller/Howard's portfolio management team in 2019. Prior to joining Miller/Howard, Brandon worked as an investment management intern at The Colony Group in Babylon, NY and worked at ChangeSquare in London as a research analyst. Luan Jenifer
Chief Executive Officer and President
Luan Jenifer joined Miller/Howard Investments in 2002. Previously, Luan held several key leadership positions at the firm including Chief Operating Officer and Head of ESG. In her long-time work as Head of ESG, Luan was instrumental in expanding the scope and impact our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) program, which began over three decades ago. Luan is chair of the Executive Committee, and serves on Miller/Howard's Board of Directors, Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee, and Compensation Committee. As an avid supporter of local community organizations, Luan created the firm’s volunteer time off program. Luan holds a BS from Marist College.

Brian Helhoski
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Brian Helhoski is responsible for the firm’s financial reporting and is the CFO of Miller/Howard Funds Trust and High Income Equity Fund. Brian is also a member of Miller/Howard's Executive Committee. Before being appointed CFO of Miller/Howard, he was the firm’s controller. Brian brings with him more than 30 years’ experience in accounting and finance in both public and private enterprises. Prior to joining Miller/Howard in 2016, he held several accounting positions at KPMG, Iron Mountain Inc., and Besicorp. Most recently he served as controller for SunWize Technologies/EcoClean Solar in Kingston, New York, where he was responsible for accounting, financial reporting, credit management, and financial controls. Brian holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Virginia.

Charles Atkins, CIPM
CHIEF COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Charles Atkins, CIPM, was promoted to his current position in 2018. Previously, he served as Director of Performance and Data Analytics, responsible for the accountability and accuracy of all Miller/Howard performance and data, as well as GIPS reporting and audits. Charles is also a member of Miller/Howard's Executive Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Charles worked for 10 years at Prime Capital Services Inc., a FINRA-registered broker/dealer, where his chief responsibilities as compliance officer/branch examiner involved oversight of compliance programs across 95 branches nationwide, compliance training for registered representatives, annual anti-money-laundering audits, and support for multiple FINRA and SEC examinations. He majored in Facilities Engineering at State University of New York Maritime College in Bronx, NY.

Catherine Johnston, CFA

Timothy Mack
Relationship Manager—National Accounts
Timothy Mack is responsible for national accounts and relationship management. In his previous role, Tim was a relationship associate, working in sales and client service, database maintenance and reporting, and project assistance. Olga Diatchkovski

Olga Diatchkovski focuses on all facets of trading and the oversight of all cash flows. Olga joined Miller/Howard in 2001, working in the operations/account management department for several years with senior trading responsibilities until her promotion to her current position in 2015. Before coming to the US from her native Russia, Olga worked as an accountant at the Moscow Economic Statistical Institute, as a political economics professor at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, and an economist in a Moscow-based production company. Patricia Karr Seabrook

Patricia Karr Seabrook is involved in ESG research, engagement, and proxy voting. She collaborates closely with investor networks, such as Ceres and the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility. Prior to joining Miller/Howard in 2007, she worked as a legal assistant in the corporate department of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz.
